The tram was set in assistance in 1992 on regular gauge track with fashionable automobiles, connecting Sirkeci with Topkapi. The line was prolonged on one particular end from Topkapi to Zeytinburnu in March 1994 and, on the opposite stop from Sirkeci to Eminönü in April 1996.
